"For you created my inmost being;

you knit me together in my mother’s womb.

I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made;

your works are wonderful, I know that full well.

My frame was not hidden from you when I was made

in the secret place, when I was woven together

in the depths of the earth. Your eyes saw my

unformed body; all the days ordained for me

were written in your book

before one of them came to be."

Psalm 139: 13-16

If your baby has just been diagnosed...

If your baby has just been diagnosed with hydrocephalus, you are not alone! One of the best parental resources for hydrocephalus that we found was a website maintained by another "hydro mom":
www.fetalhydrocephalus.com

There is a lot of practical information to be found there. It may also be overwhelming, so remember, every child's hydro journey is different.

Also, everyone tends to focus on ventricle measurements- I know we did when we first found out about Meghan's hydro. If I can offer one piece of advice: while the "numbers" or the "prognosis" may be severe, the brain is an amazing creation, and no one can predict what an individuals outcome will be. So read, be prepared, take things one day at a time- and always, always have HOPE.

  1. Perfectly worded, Sarah! I could have used those words spoken to me when I was pregnant with my Cayman. Blessings.
